Hedwig And The Angry Inch

The Hong Kong version of Hedwig and the Angry Inch ran in 2025 at Freespace, West Kowloon. It delivered a bold, local spin on the Tony Award-winning musical by John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask. Directed by choreographer Ivanhoe Lam and starring Jordan Cheng—the 2023 Hong Kong Theatre Awards Best Actor—as the gender-queer punk-rock singer Hedwig Robinson, the show followed Hedwig’s fierce pursuit of love and stardom after a botched sex-change operation.
